Who am I?

I'm from Houston, a graduate of the University of Texas, a fan of the Houston Astros and Houston Texans. But this blog will be about the "greater sports", whatever that means.

Sportsman of the Week Ending 4/20/2025

While everyone presumed the Los Angeles Dodgers would coast to the NL West Championship, if not the NL Pennant.  The San Diego Padres are reloaded and ready to challenge.  There may not be a better all-around player on the planet, if not the hottest, than Fernando Tatis Jr.  FTJ is playing high level MVP ball if not Triple Crown.  This week he was 9-24, 9 runs, 7 RBI, 4 HR and walked 5 times.  He's a problem for opponents leading off with artillery behind him.  It's crazy he just turned 26.  By now twice Top 5 MVPs, two silver sluggers, and a gold glove.  With the COVID year, he's only played 130 games or more twice.  What does this look like for 150 games for a few years in a row?  We'll find out, but Fernando Tatis Jr. is the Longhorndave Sportsman of the Week!
