Who am I?

I'm from Houston, a graduate of the University of Texas, a fan of the Houston Astros and Houston Texans. But this blog will be about the "greater sports", whatever that means.

Sportswoman of the Week Ending 10/25/2026

In a busy sports fall, that included sports szyzygy* on Monday 10/26, the WNBA finishes one of it's most successful seasons with the finals.  As the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries go toe to toe for their first Championship and the game has star power.  One of the most polarizing figures in the WNBA is Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese.  Knows as the villain to two-time Sportswoman of the Week Caitlin Clark in college, Reese continues her success at the professional level.  In Games 2 and 3, which turned a Dream 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 series lead, Reese dominated.  She poured in 51 points and 28 rebounds to have the Dream surge to the series lead.  The 6'4" megastar, still only 24 years old, also had 6 assists and 4 steals over the two games.  Will the Dream fight back from a 3-2 Finals deficit (as the Valkyries have won the two games since)?  If so, Reese will have to lead them.  Angel Reese is the Longhorndave Sportswoman of the Week!

*Sports szyzygy (sometimes mislabeled as "equinox"), is the time of year when the NBA, MLB, NFL, and NHL all have meaningful games.  This year, that included the WNBA Finals Game 5.
